Victorian farmers encouraged to have their say in statewide survey

Victorian farmers and regional residents are being encouraged to participate in the Victorian Farmers Federation’s second annual State of the State: Victorian Farmer Priorities Survey.

The survey is designed to identify the major issues, challenges and opportunities facing Victorian agriculture and provide a statewide snapshot of farmer sentiment.

VFF President Ryan Milgate said participants are being asked what has changed over the past year, what has improved, what has become more difficult and what they would like to see addressed in the future.

More than 700 responses were received for the inaugural survey in 2025, with issues raised including regional roads, biosecurity, the Emergency Services and Volunteers Fund and renewable energy infrastructure developments.

The 2026 survey is open until Thursday 20 August.

Participants can access the survey through the VFF website.
