The Sheep Sustainability Framework (SSF) has released its 2025–2030 Strategic Plan, setting a clear direction to enhance sustainability, transparency, and accountability across Australia’s sheepmeat and wool industries.
Building on its launch in 2021, the SSF continues to provide a nationally coordinated, evidence-based approach to measuring and reporting industry performance. The new five-year plan focuses on stakeholder engagement, robust data collection and reporting, and responsiveness to industry needs.
Independent Chair Angus Gidley-Baird said the new strategy is designed to turn sustainability awareness into meaningful action across the value chain. Key features include continued development of the SSF’s digital data dashboard and regular engagement with producers and industry stakeholders to stay aligned with evolving sustainability expectations.
Backed by Sheep Producers Australia and WoolProducers Australia, and supported by Meat & Livestock Australia and Australian Wool Innovation, the SSF remains a vital tool in shaping policy and guiding investment for a more sustainable future.
