Growers from across Australia are gearing up to showcase the best of Aussie fresh produce at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong.
This flagship tradeshow for the fresh produce industry attracts over 700 exhibitors from 43 countries and 13,000 buyers and trade visitors from around the globe.
Brett Fifield, CEO of Hort Innovation, highlighted the growing global demand for Australian produce as a key focus for the sector. “Australia’s horticulture exports have surged from $1.21 billion in 2013 to $2.81 billion in 2023, marking a remarkable annual growth rate of 8.8%,” Mr Fifield said. “Our participation at Asia Fruit Logistica underscores our commitment to showcasing the highest quality produce on the world stage.”
This year marks a record turnout of Australian growers and exporters, all set to feature under the Grown in Good Nature Australia Pavilion. Developed with industry input, Hort Innovation’s Grown in Good Nature brand exemplifies how Australia’s unique geography and character contribute to producing the freshest, highest-quality produce.
David Flack from Venus International, a leading citrus exporter, expressed excitement about expanding their networks. “We currently export premium Australian citrus to over 15 countries and aim to grow our presence in both existing and new markets,” Mr Flack said. “Asia Fruit Logistica provides a valuable opportunity to connect with existing customers and explore new prospects all in one place.”
