$50,000 grants to boost WA farmers’ markets

A new grant program is offering up to $50,000 to support farmers’ markets across Western Australia, helping them meet operational costs and build long-term sustainability.

Farmers’ markets play a vital role in connecting local growers and producers directly with the community. They offer fresh produce, artisan goods, and create valuable opportunities for small businesses, while also contributing to local economies and food tourism.

This initiative aims to strengthen the state’s agrifood sector by supporting markets from Perth to regional centres such as Geraldton and Albany. Funding will help markets grow, improve infrastructure, and continue delivering fresh, locally sourced products to the public.

By backing farmers’ markets, the program supports producers, enhances regional resilience, and provides consumers with greater access to low food-mile options.
